Choosing AI models in chat

OWeb's model router scores models by reliability, reasoning, tool support, and vision. Default Auto picks the best fit per message. Power users can select a specific model from the chat header when needed.

When to use Auto

Auto is recommended for most operator work — it avoids picking a fast model for a tool-heavy chain or a reasoning model for a simple rewrite.

Manual selection

If you manually select a model without tool support while tools are enabled, the router falls back to Auto for that turn. Vision tasks require models with vision support.
